Public Information Program

The Board will maintain a continuing public information program, in order to promote widespread understanding of the school program, and to gain the support and participation of the school community.


Parents and citizens wishing to obtain information should first visit the District website. If further information is needed, an inquiry may be made to the Principal or other school administrator, then to the Superintendent, and finally to the Board.


School-Sponsored Publications

The Superintendent and their staff will use school-sponsored media and the press to keep the goals, programs, achievements, and needs of the schools before the public.  


The District may periodically publish issues of or otherwise provide access to "Yorktown School District News,” which will be distributed to parents, residents, and staff members in the manner determined by the District. The budget issue will be planned with the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent for Business. A draft copy of the budget issue will be submitted to the Board prior to publication.            


The Superintendent will establish procedures to govern interactions between the schools and the news media.
