We recognise that adherence to social distancing between individuals and households can be particularly difficult in a playground setting. This will mean that other ways of minimising transmission risk will be implemented:
A compulsory hand wash station will be positioned at the entrance to the play area and children and accompanying carers will be required to wash their hands prior to entry and when exiting.
We will request that wherever possible those children using the play area are actively accompanied in the play area by only one family member per child. Please could other members of the group keep to the plentiful seating provided at the edges of the play area.
We will limit the number of children, (with accompanying carers) any one time, at peak times (weekends and holidays) this will be by limiting entry to diners only.
We will regularly use child-safe disinfectant on all high touch surfaces (by staff member wearing knapsack). Paying particular attention to high touch areas like handrails, door handles and grab points on play equipment.
Additionally, where there are clear touchpoints, such as swing handles, steering wheels or trapeze bars, we will encourage sanitation of equipment by users, parents, guardians and carers by offering paper roll and sanitiser spray for them to clean surfaces prior to/after their own child’s use.
We will set a time limit of 1 hours play and use the wristband system customers are already familiar with to manage this.
Staff members will pass wristbands to parents/carers to place on their child/children, in order to minimise person-to-person contact.
Contactless payment will be strongly encouraged when paying the £3 per child entry fee.
We will strongly discourage consumption of food or drink in the play areas and certainly whilst actively on play equipment.
We encourage you to bring hand sanitiser gel or wipes to clean your children’s hands if you wish.
We advise children (or parents of users) not to touch their faces, and to cough or sneeze into a tissue or arm when a tissue is not available.
We remind adults and children not to put their mouths on equipment or their hands in their mouths.
We promote and remind users, parents, guardians and carers of the need for social distancing.
We will provide waste facilities and more frequent rubbish collection.
It is understandable that parents are concerned about their children returning to playgrounds, in planning our reopening we have referred to Government guidance in addition to the following papers/articles etc that you may also wish to read:

COVID-19 AND CHILDREN - what does the science tell us, and what does this mean as the lockdown is eased?
When implementing measures, we acknowledge that adults and children of certain ages and with certain conditions will find social distancing difficult.
Further government advice to Education and Childcare settings notes:
"We know that, unlike older children and adults, early years and primary age children cannot be expected to remain 2 metres apart from each other and staff. In deciding to bring more children back to early years and schools, we are taking this into account. Schools should therefore work through the hierarchy of measures set out above:
avoiding contact with anyone with symptoms
frequent hand cleaning and good respiratory hygiene practices
regular cleaning of settings
minimising contact and mixing
We should all recognise that it is not possible to completely eliminate the risk of Covid-19.
