York Principles of Learning Goal: We will enhance each student's educational journey by focusing on quality instruction, feedback, and engagement as outlined in the York Principles of Learning (YPL).

YHS Building Accomplishments

1. Evaluated our 2022-2023 surveys over student engagement & staff development

2. Adopted “Instructional Strategies Playbook” to promote YPL goals

3. Initiated an instructional rounds peer monitoring program for staff

4. Identified areas in which new staff need training:

   • YPL

   • ICU philosophy & protocol

YHS Building Next Steps

1. August PD suggestions

   • Classwize demo w/ all Ss moving to school devices 

   • AI playground-- we’ve had presentations/overviews of ways to use in classroom but need time dig into it

   • ICU training for new staff/refresher training for veteran staff

2. Survey staff members on favorite useful tech tools

   • Identify our in-house “experts”  and use to drive opportunities for small group showcase, collaboration, etc.

3. ICU Reboot

   • Refresher on philosophy

   • Review and align practices within building and district wide
