Petri Lab

We are performing cutting-edge experiments at leading international accelerator laboratories to advance our understanding of the nuclear force. We are also developing the next generation of detectors, tools, and techniques. Our experimental programme addresses overarching questions in Nuclear Science, like "What is the nature of the nuclear force?", "Can we understand nuclei based on the underlying fundamental interactions?", "What is the role of 3-body forces?", and "How do nucleon-nucleon correlations deplete the single-particle strength in atomic nuclei?".

Our research is funded by the Royal Society and the UKRI Science and Technology Facilities Council.

We are looking for motivated students wanting to undertake a PhD or MScR degree in Nucler Science within our lab.
