Between trips to Bristol

Hey everyone,
Sorry for the lack of updates, but unfortunately this time was (mostly) because we had so much to do!
A couple of weeks after our last update, I managed to pick a train to Bristol to bring the skulls to the scanning facilities at Bristol Uni, where they have been digitized over the summer. I can't thank enough the amazing staff there not just because of the great job they did, but also because there was A LOT of skulls to scan. And now I'm back on the train, mask on again, on my way to get the skulls back plus a few terabytes of data. Can't wait to check them out!
As for the time between visits, July was mostly segmenting the scans from Oslo and Berlin (which we received shortly after our last update) plus some out-of-project time to work on an application for a (hopefully) future parallel project. Then I took some time off to visit the family back in Spain while the global situation allowed, and that ended up dipping into August thanks to some airline cancelling return flights last minute... Anyway, after that I got to landmark all the crania segmented in July, and now September has been all about mandibles so far: drafting the landmark configuration (with drawings as usual), landmarking ALL the mandibles, and then testing for repeatability.
So I'm all set now, tomorrow I get to start all over again with the segmentation and the landmarking and the semilandmarking... for all the crania... and the mandibles... please kill me... SO. MANY. SKULLS! Jokes aside, I'm looking forward to it: preliminary results have been cool, so I can't wait to see how they look with the whole sample. Looks like the next few months are gonna be quite busy too!
Until next update,
Eloy
