Hey everyone,
Sorry for the lack of updates, but it's been a tough couple of months.
For starters, I barely made it back home for the holidays before the pandemic got crazy again here in the UK, and several of my friends weren't even able to go see their families. Maybe that was for the best though... In any case, I managed to have a few meals over the holidays with very small subsamples of my family (restrictions!) while working on the presentation for AnatSoc, which I ended up virtually attending with a bit of a fever. The couple weeks after that were not nice, as I was sick, but I've been fine for almost a month now, slowly getting back to schedule. Oh! And by the way, I'm still stranded in Spain. Can't wait for flights to be operative again...
On a more positive note, last Saturday we had the virtual live session for the Skull & Jaw Functional Morphology & Evolution section at SICB, which was fun. Attendance was quite low though, but who knows, with the recording still available on SICB's platform until February 28th, there still plenty of time for people to watch it. I sure have a bunch of sections to check out yet! I'll try to get the recording uploaded here after the conference, so be sure to check back (probably around March).
And as for more current day-to-day stuff, I've been tinkering a bit with linking mink diets to skull shape variation and I think I'm onto something, but that's now on hold as we work on the first manuscript for the research objective O1. Hopefully you'll get more news about that soon™.
Until next update,
Eloy
