Slow / Done / Sorry

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to give you a quick update, as the last two months have been quite slow and "unproductive".
Slow because I've been mostly finishing up stuff before moving to the next big thing in the project: muscle anatomy and FEA. In fact, we started working on both work packages! Yes, simultaneously. Oh! What have we finished you ask? Well, the final assessment for PGCAP has been submitted, so I'm done with that. After a second round of staining, we finally managed to obtain workable scans (some of them actually quite good), so I'm done with lab work too. I bet the people at PalaeoHub will be happy xD
"Unproductive" because I got sick right after my last entry and, after an OK-ish week or so of learning to train Dragonfly's AI to separate teeth from bone, I got sick again. Yay... Anyway, I managed to get better just in time to attend an FEA workshop to learn how to use the software to prepare and solve the FE models. (Another thing done!) After that it was a quick of succession of a leave week to host some visiting family, a quick trip to Edinburgh to return a loan and digitize a last batch of postcranial stuff (database done!), traveling to Bristol for the last round of diceCT scanning, and another leave week to host a visiting friend. So all in all a lot of stuff done, but which doesn't feel like much progress for MINKS.
And that brings me to the sorry part, as I don't think I will be able to post any more updates before MINKS ends on September 1st. It's gonna be a VERY busy three months trying to get done as much as possible before Phil and I start our new projects. I promise to do a big catch up entry once I'm settled in the next destination, so follow MINKS on twitter to get notified when I do!
Until next update,
Eloy
