The loan kit contains 10 Google Cardboard VR headsets. These headsets can be used with a mobile phone, (not provided) to view some VR content relating to Nuclear Physics.
You can find some links below to download/view apps/videos of a variety of physics content:
Short videos about Fusion energy (coming soon!)
A solar storm - video
There is quite a lot of content regarding ITER too:
A tour inside ITER - Video
A tour inside ITER - Webpage
The timeline of ITER - Webpage
You can also use them with any VR video on YouTube, for example, (but make sure to click the VR Cardboard icon in the bottom corner)!
One of the videos featured in our masterclass is "Why Build A Sun On Earth?", which explores why and how we aim to achieve fusion energy on Earth. You can use this video using the VR version, and accompanying script, below with your class!
Module 3: Fission and Fusion
Our energy demands continue to increase every year. Nuclear power is one possible avenue to help provide some of this required energy. We look a fission power, its negative effects, and how fusion could be a viable alternative.
Module 4: Fusion Technology
Our energy demands continue to increase every year. Fusion power is one possible avenue to help provide some of this required energy. Fusion is a very excited, but complicated, field of research, and figuring out how to "put a star in a jar" could help solve our energy crisis.
You can find some Isaac Physics questions you can set to your students related to fission and fusion below. Please feel free to look at the answers for these questions, as well as our page for help setting up an account on Isaac Physics!
