2025 MLK Professional Development Opportunity: Building our Beloved Community

This facilitated conversation explores the concept of “intersectionality”: when a person or group’s racial, socioeconomic, gender, and other identities and experiences intersect in ways that augment power or amplify oppression. This conversation will help you explore institutional bias and ways you can advocate for more equitable change.

Background: In 2022, the YMCA of Central Ohio started the tradition of offering staff a professional development experience in alignment with the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the month of January/Q1.
