Van Buren Volunteer,
The health, well-being, and safety of our Guests, staff, volunteers and partners is our top priority. We are monitoring the ever-changing dynamics of the COVID-19 virus and listening to the advice of Federal, State and Local government and health officials. We will be sending regular updates to so that we can keep you informed as a vital partner.
Beginning Monday, March 16th, we will postpone all volunteer efforts for 3 weeks to allow our volunteers the opportunity to care for themselves and their families. As you continue your daily routines, we encourage you to follow everyday preventative actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Within our facility, we take special precautions to prevent the spread of illness, and even during this time we have heightened our sanitation practices. We have a role to play in slowing the virus spread while serving the community in a healthy way and we will need your help!
We rely on our volunteers 365 days a year to provide time, talent and treasure to those served at the Van Buren Center. We understand that postponing our volunteers efforts will impact the women, children and families the most.
The Van Buren Center will remain open during this crisis to serve our Guests that are experiencing a homeless episode.
We will continue to send updates and information about our volunteer opportunities to let you know when we resume our volunteer efforts.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to our Executive Director, Shameikia Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions or would like to offer additional support to those served at The Van Buren Center during this time.
To reschedule your volunteer shift at a later date please contact our Volunteer and Program Coordinator, Kristian Tucker (email@example.com).
We thank you for your continued support.
