The Yorktown High School campus has welcomed 12 new teachers, and 6 in new positions this year. To help you get to know the new educators behind the desk, we interviewed them to find out a little bit about their background and what they teach. 

New science teacher, Ms. Pitti, came from Monahans High School, located in West Texas, west of Odessa, Texas. She states that she has lived everywhere, but settled in Amarillo, Texas her 8th grade year, where she stayed until graduation. Ms. Pitti attended a Junior College, Amarillo College, then moved to South Carolina, and finally finished at Oklahoma Panhandle State in Goodwell, Ok. She teaches science because she is good at it, and it’s the only thing in life that makes sense to her. Ms. Pitti’s favorite subject to teach is chemistry because she used to tutor in college and didn't realize that not everyone understands it. In her free time, she loves to make soap, lotion, toothpaste, and laundry detergent. Ms. Pitti has many hobbies, and is on her sourdough journey right now.     

We are thrilled to have her on campus this year, and are very excited for the new ideas she will bring to our school.
