‘Students make an excellent contribution to the life of the school’
At YHT we believe in preparing our students for the future by providing a range of opportunities to gain new experiences, develop life skills and pursue interests. Each year we have a rich programme of events which our students take part in including debating competitions, public speaking events, musicals, live performances, charity fundraising events, a host of sporting activities and other subject based clubs. Enrichment activities are engaging, motivational and eagerly pursued.
Sport features strongly at YHT. There are many opportunities for learnerss to participate in sport and physical activity during break times and after school for enrichment activities.
Enrichment activities both daily and on a Friday afternoon vary from term to term. Extra-curricular clubs will be added as, and when, possible following government and school guidelines. All activities are subject to change.
Activities include:
Football (boys and girls)
Dance
Surfing
Gymnastics
Badminton
Cricket
Rugby (boys and girls)
Rollerblading
Boxing
Contact Miss Georgia Davies (Active Young People Officer) for more details.
Drama Society is open to all new or existing young actors at our school. Including any learners from Year 7 to Year 13, this society provides an inclusive opportunity to develop and explore acting styles and techniques.
Drama Society has proved very popular with our learners with numbers averaging around 40 members per week. We are currently responsible for producing and performing the annual Ysgol Harri Tudur Christmas pantomime, alongside a number of virtual and community performances throughout the year.
Mr Kingdom also encourages those with an interest in the technical side of Theatre to attend as opportunities will soon be installed where learners can begin to understand the use of lighting and sound in Theatre, through use of our technical equipment.
Sixth form learners take the role of 'Learner lead' in support of Mr Kingdom, enhancing the all school ethos of the group.
Mr Kingdom looks forward to meeting you in the Hall every Friday at 2pm!
