As the seasons change and the weather gets colder, I pray for warmth. I pray families will be comforted and be provided for. May your peace and joy abound in our homes and in our hearts. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Ms. Adrienne Gelling (Le - Z) Mrs. Jessica Phillips (A-La)
Department Head of Guidance Counsellor
Students from grades 7-12 are assigned a counsellor according to their last name.
Monday to Friday
8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Mrs. Margo DiFrancesco
The counsellor's role is to counsel, present options and to help students with pathway planning. Students are encouraged to make use of various planning tools in order to make informed decisions about their pathways. Counsellors also provide referrals to community social service agencies when necessary. Students are able to seek social/emotional support through Guidance as well. However, counsellors do not provide professional therapy supports for students dealing with Mental Health issues. All students are encouraged to make appointments as needed.
How to book an appointment:
- Before or after school, or during lunch go into Guidance Office, not during class time.
- Students book an appointment with their counsellor by speaking to the Guidance Secretary who will complete an appointment slip.
- If the appointment is during a class period, show the slip to the teacher when leaving or returning to class. If the scheduled appointment is not convenient due to class lesson, the appointment can be rescheduled.
- Appointments to accommodate parent schedules can also be made. Please have your child arrange an appointment through the Guidance Secretary.
