Halloween 2023 Events
The week leading up to Halloween, members of the SickKids committee sold small bags of candy called “Boo Bags” to buy as a present! All the money raised went towards SickKids.
On Tuesday, October 31st, students had the chance to participate in a costume contest and win candy! Contestants were judged for the best costume in the cafeteria during all lunch periods. The categories included solo and group costumes. The three best contestants in each category advanced to the finals. During the finals, the audience was asked to cheer for their favourite costume. Using a sound meter, the judges determined the winner based on the loudest cheer!
Some contest winners included soloists Scout from Team Fortress Two, Michael Jackson, and Shaggy, and group costumes Men in Black and Linguini and Remy from Ratatouille.

Amadeus: Alrighty, so, we are here on A lunch with the group costume winners! What are your names?
Winners: Dante and Niko.
Amadeus: Could you tell me a bit about your costume?
Winners: We're the Men in Black. I'm Agent J, and he's Agent K.
Amadeus: What was the inspiration behind your costume?
Winners: The movie Men in Black (laughter). Someone asked me if we wanted to do it.
Amadeus: Were you confident that you were going to win?
Winners: Yes, very confident.
Amadeus: Alrighty, thank you very much for your time!
Scout
Amadeus: I'm here with the A lunch solo costume winner! What is your name?
Winner: Michael Ponzi.
Amadeus: What is your costume?
Winner: I'm the Scout from TF2. (Team Fortress 2)
Amadeus: What inspired you to pick this costume?
Winner: Well, I was looking for really iconic characters from games I enjoy, and the first thing that came to be was TF2; And the Scout, it's easy; You know, it's green, it looks nice; I thought I pulled it off pretty well.
Amadeus: Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Winner: I mean, better luck next year, 'cuz I'm gonna up it next year; I'm gonna be something even better, so if y'all wanna win the contest you're gonna have to be better than me.
Amadeus: Alrighty! Thank you very much for your time!

Amadeus: We are here with the B lunch solo costume winner! What is your name?
Winner: Freddie!
Amadeus: What is your costume?
Winner: Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
Amadeus: What was the inspiration for your costume?
Winner: Not gonna lie, I just thought of it one day and thought it would be a good idea.
Amadeus: Is there anything you'd like to say?
Winner: Enjoy all the candy you get today on Halloween!
