Held in the new Prescott Center for Learning and Innovation, the YC Research Symposium brings together faculty and staff from across Yavapai College to share, explore, and learn from the wide range of research, professional practice, and innovation happening on our campus.
The symposium features concurrent sessions highlighting formal disciplinary research, applied and practice-based work, teaching and learning innovations, and initiatives that support student success and institutional effectiveness. The day is designed to create space for meaningful exchange, collaboration, and reflection, while celebrating the work that helps YC continually improve and grow.
Throughout the day, participants will have opportunities to engage with colleagues, explore new ideas, and gain insight into the diverse ways research and inquiry inform our work at YC.
In addition to faculty and staff sessions, the symposium will include student poster presentations, offering students an opportunity to share their work in a supportive academic setting. Posters will be displayed in the CLI, with students present during a designated time to answer questions and engage in conversation with faculty, staff, and attendees.
Greetings Colleagues and Students,
It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the first annual Yavapai College Research Symposium. This event marks an important milestone in showcasing the research and scholarship that thrive across our institution. For years, our faculty, staff, and students have engaged in meaningful inquiry both inside and outside the classroom, and today, we celebrate that work and provide a dedicated forum to share it with our broader community.
Yavapai College has long supported undergraduate research, and, with the introduction of baccalaureate degrees, opportunities for faculty and students to collaborate and contribute to the body of knowledge across disciplines have expanded even further. The work presented here reflects a deep commitment to critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and fair-minded inquiry. These are the skills that drive continuous improvement in academia, industry, and our communities.
We are proud of the faculty, staff, and students who embrace these challenges and pursue work that helps shape the future. I encourage you to fully engage with our presenters, ask questions, and explore the ideas and discoveries they are sharing today.
Thank you for being part of this important and exciting moment for Yavapai College.
