WHAT IS COLOR GUARD

Color guard is a dynamic visual ensemble that enhances the performance of a marching band through choreographed routines featuring flags, rifles, and dance. As an integral component of the marching band experience, color guard members synchronize movements with the music to create captivating and cohesive performances that engage and entertain audiences.

WHO CAN JOIN

Any YHS student interested in the activity can join including students enrolled in orchestra and choir.  

You do not need to have background with color guard - we will teach you what you need to know!

WHEN WE REHEARSE

• We rehearse with the marching band on: M, T, TH after school from 3-5p [and on Fridays we don't have a football game]

• Color Guard sectionals are on Mondays after band rehearsal from 5:15-6:45p 

• We have band camp the two weeks before school starts, but otherwise do not have any commitments over the summer. 

WHEN WE PEFORM

• Home football games

• 4-5 competitions per season that take place on the weekends
