Update EFL methodology within a competency-based curriculum and evaluation

This is a face-to-face course which will be offered in October 2021.

The main objective of our competency-based education is to enable our students to become full citizens and face future challenges. Skills such as creativity, problem-solving, persistence or collaboration appear in the new horizon of our day to day basis thanks to a new key competency curriculum and a new concept of competency-based assessment and evaluation. You, as participants, will become more familiar with the new curriculum and will work collaboratively in order to design a learning unit according to the new competency-based curriculum. You will deep into the world of PBL, cooperative learning, Gamification…always incorporating ICT in a cross-curricular way.

OBJECTIVES /COMPETENCIES

  • Value the English curriculum, and also the digital and the personal and social ones, as a tool to help students to achieve the core competencies.

  • Plan and design evaluation for and as learning.

  • Analyse the curriculum and other documents to reflect on the implications of learning competencies.

  • Design and implement instruments to assess for learning.

  • Analyse interactive and participative learning approaches that develop competences.

  • Assess different learning and teaching approaches in order to check whether they favour competence-based learning.
