1. DISCUSSION

   • Have you ever been trick-or-treating? Have you dressed up for Halloween?

• Do you celebrate Halloween in any way at home? If yes, what do you do?

• Have you seen any cartoons, movies or TV shows about Halloween?

• What frightening monsters are seen on Halloween?

2. In small groups, find the answers to these questions about Halloween.

   • What was the ancient Celtic fall festival that was a precursor to Halloween?

   • What does the word "Halloween" mean?

   • What were originally used as the first Jack-o'-Lanterns?

   • In what state is it illegal to dress up as a nun or a priest on Halloween?

   • Describe another way of celebrating Halloween from a different culture.

   • Make 4 groups. 

   •  In each round, a member of the group will have to describe a list of words to the rest of the team.  He or she will have 2 minutes. 

   • There will be 3 rounds:  

     • 1st: description

     • 2nd: a word

     • 3rd: mimics

   • The group who has more guesses wins.
