Libraries

The Italian library is mainly funded by public money, and some private service involvement. However, the library panorama is very varied and fragmented.

SBN (Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale) is the network of Italian libraries. As a helper, OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) has a large number of documents accessible to the Internet.

Types of libraries in the Italian system:

A) State Public Libraries.

B) Local Public Libraries.

C) University Libraries.

D) School Libraries.

In addition, we can find the "Italian Digital Library" (BDI) where little by little all historical documents of both the public and private domain (church, private ...) have gradually been digitized.
