How to access the members' pages of the X-Press website
Follow these four steps to access the members' pages of our website. It should take less than 5 minutes.
Step One - Your email
The club knows you by an email address (the one where you receive club messages or messages from the Membership Secretary); we use this email to control access to our website. If you are a longstanding member of the club or if the Membership Secretary has prompted you to sign in, then your email is probably already activated. If you are not sure if your email is activated, or if you would like to use a different email, then send a message to membership@xpressbc.org.uk.
IMPORTANT: The easiest way to get get access is to use a Gmail email address if you have one (or set one up if you don't have a Gmail email). Sign-in will then be automatic if you are signed into your Goggle account. If you want to change your club contact email address to be your Gmail email then send a message to membership@xpressbc.org.uk. If you are using a Gmail email then proceed to Step Four.
Step Two - Google Chrome
IMPORTANT: open this page in Google Chrome (if you have that browser on your device). Other browsers (eg Edge, Firefox) do sometimes work, although because we use Google accounts to control access, other browsers sometimes get confused!
Step Three - Sign in to Google
We use Google to control access to our website, and you will need a Google account registered to your email.
Is your email already registered with Google? If your email address ends in "gmail.com" or you know you already use Google services like Gmail and G-Drive with your email, then you already have a Google account
Yes, my email is already registered with Google: simply sign in to your Google Account in the usual way and proceed to Step Four below (if you don't remember how to sign in to Google, follow the link here).
No, my email is not registered with Google: You will need to set up an account by following the link here. IMPORTANT: click the option “use my current email address instead” and enter your current email. Do not create an account ending in 'gmail.com'. Choose a new password. You may need to enter a PIN sent to your email or phone.
Step Four- Check you have access
First, check that you are properly signed in to Google (you can follow the link here to check). From the drop down menu in the top right you can see all of your Google accounts (if you have more than one). Make sure that your "X-Press" email is signed in.
Ready? Click below to see if it works. You might need to select your email from a list of options.
Not working?
You might get an error page; in this case:
Try again using Google Chrome as your browser.
Try again using an incognito browser (Google might get confused with any other Google account logins on your computer). If necessary, close your browser, open an incognito window, and visit this page again.
Check that you are using the email which you supplied to membership@xpressbc.org.uk (and not one of your other email, Gmail, hotmail accounts etc.). Only your designated email account will work. If you want to change your email then contact membership@xpressbc.org.uk.
Some people have complicated lives and two or more other Gmail accounts. Trying to link up those other Gmail accounts to your "X-Press email" won't work; as described above, you need a Google account in the name of the email address you supplied to the Membership Secretary.
You might be able to find a solution to a specific problem by searching on Google - there is a lot of material on line.
Consider setting up a Gmail email address - if you use a Gmail email (and let the Membership Secretary know that that is your preferred email address), then it will work automatically if you are signed into Google with that account.
Contact membership@xpressbc.org.uk if it still does not work.
