I believe with this landscape project i felt a lot more confident to take pictures of certain themes I particularly enjoy, such as the use of reflections and extreme colours which I attempted to incorporate one of these elements into each of my photographers. I believe my pictures on this project have much improved since the induction as not only have I chosen more accurate places for artist inspiration, I have also developed my understanding of the camera, experimenting much more with varying shutter speeds, aperture and ISO's then i had previously been doing. In this project I wanted to create pictures with distinct areas of influence from their photographer inspiration, and I think for the most part I have succeeded with this. I think although I have experimented a lot more with my camera knowledge, I will aim to work on exploring more intricate edits for my images by possibly finding a photographer in the formal elements project with a very distinct editing style so I can test my ability to edit my pictures in relation to a photographers work. I would also like to improve my patience while taking shots as i have found a few pictures this project I thought would have been perfect for a shot, only to find them blurry, I can solve this issue in the future by taking multiple shots of something eye catching to ensure I can add them to my portfolio and not have to let them collect dust.
This image is one of my favourites throughout the whole portfolio as it is a picture I can imagine Simon Buckley taking and adding to his portfolio, it has extreme colours demonstrated only by night time photography in an urban environments. This is then paired with the lining of symmetry and either side of the building and the emptiness of the sky, creating a sense of peace as there is nothing in the image to disturb the viewer. Overall I am pleased with this project as I feel I have taken my own inspiration and interpretations based on the photographers I have decided to research and shaped them to form my own idyllic pictures that I am proud to have taken.
