Paint The Town Purple

presented by Wyoming High School National Art Honor Society

The Wyoming High School National Art Honor Society would like to present the community of Wyoming with the opportunity to showcase jury-selected student artwork while promoting relationships between students and local businesses. It is our hope to stimulate and enrich our community through art.

This outstanding program begins with our most creative students submitting their best two-dimensional work for consideration by a jury of local art professionals. Selected work will then be professionally framed and available for viewing at the Art Gallery of the Wyoming Branch of the Kent District Library, located at 3350 Michael SW. Pieces will be displayed during library hours, from April 15 through April 18.

Paint the Town Purple culminates in a grand celebration event held on April 18 at the Kent District Library, in the meeting room next to the gallery, with doors opening promptly at 6:00 pm. Event will include entertainment by Wyoming High School musicians, light hors d'oeuvres, and the opportunity to meet these talented student artists. Businesses wishing to partner with this program can do so by pre-purchasing an event ticket, which affords them the opportunity to procure one of these extraordinary pieces of art to showcase in their location for the term of one year. Proceeds from the $100 event ticket will be used to sustain the Paint the Town Purple program and the National Art Honor Society. Art pieces will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the order of sign-in at the event.

Paint the Town Purple wishes to honor our business partners and thank them for their support in bridging our WHS fine arts programs and the local community through press releases, social media, and custom designed t-shirts.

We hope that you’ll join us by supporting our inaugural event and making this an annual tradition.
