If your child becomes unwell during the day and is unable to participate in the program, you will be contacted and asked to come and collect your child. If you cannot be contacted, staff will contact your designated emergency contact.
If your child is unwell at the start of the day, or if you suspect that your child has a communicable disease or illness, please keep them home until they are well.
Please notify the Preschool Director immediately if your child is diagnosed with one of the following vaccine preventable diseases: Diphtheria, mumps, poliomyelitis, haemophilus influenza type B (HHib), meningococcal disease, rubella (german measles), measles pertussis (Whooping cough), tetanus.
From time to time it is necessary for children to be given medication during the day.
A medication form must be completed.
Medication must be in its original packaging, labelled with the child's name, the prescribing doctor and the medicine's use by date.
Parents need to provide equipment used to administer the medication (e.g. measuring cup)
Medication must be handed to a staff member upon arrival.
Medication (including creams or ointments) must not be left in your child's bag or lunchbox.
Please note: From January 2018, only children who are fully immunised for their age OR have a medical reason not to be immunised OR are on a catch-up schedule can be enrolled in childcare. Children who have not been immunised due to their parent's vaccine conscientious objection cannot be enrolled in childcare.
Parents must provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) History Statement (that shows a child is up to date or can't be immunised for medical reasons) OR an AIR Immunisation History Form (that shows a child is on a recognised catch-up schedule) when enrolling a child in childcare.
