Below are the clothing requirements for preschool:
Children should wear sensible and comfortable play clothes. While children wear aprons during painting activities, they may still get paint on their clothes.
Children should wear either enclosed shoes or sandals (no thongs or gumboots for safety reasons).
Children should bring a sun safe hat for outdoor play - either a wide brimmed hat or legionnaire hat (baseball caps are not sun safe).
Clothing should be sun safe - including tops and dresses that cover shoulders and upper arms (no straps).
All items of clothing should be clearly labelled (including shoes) with the child's first and last name.
Staff will assist children to apply a board spectrum sunscreen before outside time. This sunscreen is provided by the school. If your child can only use a specific brand or type of sunscreen please provide a tube or bottle to be kept at preschool and label this with your child’s name.
In Terms 1 and 4 we have outside activities first, from 8:45am to 10:45am. If parents/caregivers could assist with the application of sunscreen upon arrival at preschool, and tick the "SUN" column on the sign-in sheet, this would be very helpful.
These items need to be brought to Preschool in a backpack:
Morning tea box
Lunch box
Non-spill drink bottle - water only
Additional piece of fruit or vegetable for afternoon tea if your child is staying after 3pm.
At least one spare change of clothes, including underwear and socks.
Library Bag on Library days only. Library bags made out of material with handles are recommended as they are easier for small children to manage independently.
You will be notified of your child's library day in the first preschool newsletter at the beginning of Term 1. Library visits do not commence until week 5 of Term 1. This gives the new children time to settle in, and for all the children to get to know each other and feel secure in their new groups/days, before they venture out into the wider school community.
