The Middle School Counseling Office is located in the front of the school, next to the Main Office.
The Westwood Regional School District meets state and national standards in the 6/7 School led by two New Jersey certified School Counselors, who promote and enhance the academic, personal, social/emotional, and career development of all students through individual, group and school based family counseling. In addition, the school counselors provide formal classroom lessons during various elective periods, (e.g. HIB lessons in Health), assemblies, and school-wide activities that address school/personal safety and decision-making.
The counselors work collaboratively with teaching staff, administration, nurses, and support staff within the school. In addition, the counselors oversee the Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) and Section 504 Committees. School staff and parents may refer students for counseling, by contacting the counseling department or school administration.
