INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
At our Westwood Regional High School, we use Big Ideas Learning for our core mathematics courses, including Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. This program emphasizes both conceptual understanding and procedural fluency, giving students a strong foundation in essential math skills while encouraging problem-solving and critical thinking. Big Ideas’ structured approach helps ensure consistency and coherence as students progress through the core math sequence. For advanced or specialized courses beyond these core offerings, we draw on other high-quality instructional materials aligned to our curriculum goals. To learn more about the instructional resources used across all courses, please visit our curriculum site.
Title I is the federal program that allocates funding to local school districts to improve the academic achievement of low-performing students, particularly in English Language Arts and/or Math. The purpose of Title I funding is to provide all children with a significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to help schools close educational achievement gaps. Districts and schools must implement all requirements under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. With this funding, Westwood Regional High School designs targeted assistance programming to support the academic readiness of students. These funds are intended to provide supplemental educational opportunities to students who are most academically at risk.
At Westwood Regional High School, Title I services focus on:
Strengthening foundational skills in Math and Language Arts
Providing targeted small-group and individualized instruction
Engaging families in the learning process through communication, workshops, and resources
