2023-24 will be Mrs. Lichtstein's 19th year as a School Psychologist in the Westwood Regional School District. This school year, Mrs. Lichtstein will work with students, parents and staff at the Westwood Regional Middle School and Washington Elementary School.
Mrs. Lichtstein is a cum laude graduate of the University of Rochester with a BA Degree in Psychology and has an MS degree in Educational Psychology and an Advanced Certificate in School Psychology from SUNY Albany. She is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the New Jersey Association of School Psychologists (NJASP). She is Nationally Certified as a School Psychologist.
In her free time, Mrs. Lichtstein enjoys photography, swimming, walking on the beach and playing with her four grandchildren.
Role of a School Psychologist
Assess and monitor students’ academic, emotional, social and behavioral needs and provide direct and indirect services based on level of need
Plan appropriate Individualized Education Programs for students with disabilities
Consult and collaborate with teachers to individualize instruction and interventions
Ensure student participation in the Least Restrictive Environment
Help families understand their child's learning and mental health needs
Assist in navigating special education processes
