Language Arts:
- revise and edit own writing
- edit own work for spelling and mechanics
- read chapter books fluently
- draw conclusions from texts
- identify elements of story in text
- read a variety of genres
- infer meaning of unknown vocabulary
- monitor own comprehension while reading
Math:
- add, subtract, multiply multi-digit numbers
- divide 3-digit numbers by single digits
- classify and sort 2-D and 3-D shapes
- measure perimeter, area, length, weight, and capacity
- create equivalent fractions and decimals, add and subtract fractions and decimals
- construct and interpret graphs
- solve open-ended problems and give multiple solutions
- solve simple algebraic equations (open equations)
Science:
- question, observe, experiment
- active investigations
- creation of science notebooks/journals
- use of engineering design process
