Westwood Regional Jr./Sr. High School Code of Conduct

Eligibility & Expectations

  1. A “C” or better average in each class in the preceding two marking periods, as well as the current marking period of the election. This means each individual class must have an average of a “C” or better. This does not mean a cumulative average of all classes. A letter grade of a “D” or “F” appearing on the report card during the current marking period or the two previous marking periods is not allowed.
  2. No violation of the Board of Education’s Substance Abuse Policy while at Westwood Regional Jr./Sr. High School.
  3. No disciplinary actions ending in suspension against him/her in the preceding or current semester.
  4. Demonstrate satisfactory school attendance by maintaining a record of 90%.
    1. You must abide by ALL dates and conditions stipulated by the Advisor(s).
    2. No Class Officer shall hold the position of yearbook or newspaper Editor-In-Chief, or shall be a Student Government Representative.
  5. Receive majority vote. If no one receives a majority vote, a runoff election will be held for the two candidates with the highest votes.
    1. Maintain leadership characteristics by:
      1. Demonstrating leadership in promoting school activities.
      2. Exercising influence on peers in upholding school ideals.
      3. Contributing ideas that improve the civic life of the school.
      4. Being able to delegate responsibility.
      5. Exemplifying positive attitudes.
      6. Inspiring positive behavior in others.
      7. Demonstrating academic initiative.
    2. Holding positions of responsibility, conducting business efficiently, and effectively showing initiative and being reliable and dependable.
    3. Being dependable in any responsibility accepted.
      1. Maintain service characteristics by:
        1. Maintaining a loyal school attitude.
        2. Working well with others and be willing to take on difficult or inconspicuous responsibilities.
        3. Rendering cheerfully any requested service to school.
        4. Be willing to represent the class or school.
      2. Maintain character by:
        1. Upholding principles of morality and ethics.
        2. Cooperating by complying with school regulations concerning property, programs, office, halls, etc.
        3. Demonstrating the highest standards of honesty and reliability.
        4. Showing courtesy, concern and respect for others.
        5. Observing instruction and rules, punctuality and faithfulness.
        6. Manifesting truthfulness.
