Since its inception, Earth Hour has built a recognizable brand. We wanted to preserve this essence, while evolving it with a modern and refreshed look.
Clean, modest typography can hold great impact when delivering sincere, inspiring messaging—essential for a global campaign like Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is a celebration of Earth, designed to inspire action for our one shared home. And thus, we'll use colours to do just that.
As the flip clock motif has inspired our new logo, we’ve created consistency by using these shapes throughout the brand. The nature of these motifs allows for a multitude of possibilities.
With our photography, we’ll create a brand world that feels distinctly Earth Hour. By focusing on images that are people-first and authentic, we can tell a story that celebrates the actions—big and small—of real people.
Representative of the sixty minutes in an hour. Our “60” icon is an updated evolution of the “60” symbol, with green and blue gradients that evoke Earth’s landscapes.

Understand the guidelines surrounding how we work with other collaborators and partners to bring our brand and campaign to life.
In this workshop, you will gain a better understanding of the key Earth Hour brand elements. We will also show you the basic editing functions and Canva so you can use our EH2025 templates to create localized key visuals - even if you have no design experience!
We welcome everyone to celebrate Earth Hour, who are in support of our campaign mission, uniting people to protect our planet, and do not use Earth Hour for commercial purposes, unless otherwise authorised by WWF.
As an open source brand, much of the Earth Hour resources are also made available for all to use, but there are crucial guidelines are still in place to protect the trademark and essence of the brand.
We have also prepared an FAQ document, answering questions asked by the network. This is a live document where we will be adding more questions and answers as we receive them from the network and other organizers.
