Hello! My name is Karina Barbosa, and I am excited to be entering my third year as the Site Supervisor for Suzanne Teen Scene. I have been with the district for seven years, beginning my journey at Vejar Elementary before making my way to Suzanne.

Working with children and teens has been such a rewarding experience, and it is truly one of my passions. I believe every student deserves a place where they feel welcomed, safe, supported, and comfortable being themselves.

My goal is to create an environment where students can explore their creativity, discover new interests, learn new things, and grow into confident and kind young people. Middle school can be an exciting, confusing, and sometimes awkward and I want to be someone who helps students navigate those years with encouragement, patience, and a little bit of fun.

I also believe that while growing up is important, it is just as important to remember that our students are still kids. I want Teen Scene to be a place where they can be silly, laugh, make memories, try new things, and simply enjoy being themselves.

When I’m not at Teen Scene, I enjoy staying active by playing soccer, curling up with a good book, cooking and baking, and watching movies. I am also a proud dog mom to my two pups, Lady and Teddy! I love spending time with them.

I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Childcare community, and I look forward to creating many fun, meaningful, and memorable experiences with our students!
