This is a guide on how to set up Google Chrome for your desktop or laptop computer.
If you haven't got Google Chrome installed on your computer already, download it and follow the installation steps and start from from step 4. You can download Google Chrome from here: https://www.google.com/chrome/
If you already have Google Chrome installed, click on the little round icon next to the three dots at the top-right of the browser window and then click + Add
Click the Add person button.
Select a name and an icon and leave the "Create a desktop shortcut for this user" option ticked.
Click on the link: "Already a Chrome user? Sign in"
Enter your child's WVPS Google Account username and click Next.
In the next screen enter your child's password and click Next.
Once you are logged in, the window opposite will appear. It is important that you click Link data.
Finally, click Yes, I'm in so that all bookmarks, passwords, history, etc are saved and sync'd.
Once logged in, you'll notice that the browser will change to a reddish colour and the above notification will appear. Do not press Undo. Instead just navigate to a website or just click the little X on the right-hand side.
The different theme will make it obvious that you are logged in to a school account, especially if you are also using Chrome with a personal Gmail account.
Links to the websites we use at school have already been added (their icons will be updated after you visit the websites for the first time).
