2C Yu Siu Ku obtained 3rd Class Honours in International Junior Science Olympiad 2024 – Hong Kong Screening organized by The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education and was invited to attend the Prize-giving cum Flag Presentation Ceremony. Congratulations to Siu Ku!

The competition was co-organized by Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Scholars Association, Hong Kong Mathematics and Science Education Association, and Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers. With "Speeding Wind" as the theme, participants were required to design and build a device utilizing wind power from an external fan (lower grade group), or a device propelled by balloon jet thrust (upper grade group), to travel along a sloped wooden track to the finish platform.

Our F.1 students visited CUPNOODLES MUSEUM Hong Kong. They experienced firsthand and acquired knowledge of the product design and manufacturing process well beyond the science textbook.
In order to spark curiosity, ignite inquisitive minds, and engage students with science through joyful experiences, our Science Department arranged a Science visit for F.2 students to the CIC- Zero Carbon Park.

Our STEM Carnival was coordinated by our Science, Technology, Art and Mathematics KLA. Through the eleven diverse information and game zones related to technology applications, our students with STEM talents had the opportunity to utilize their knowledge to design games and devices as well as explain their innovative ideas to their fellow schoolmates, exploring and sharing their research results.
This year, the event was co-organized with the Government’s Planning Department, Hong Kong Baptist University, and The University of Science and Technology. With a total number of participants exceeding 400, the carnival enjoyed a much vivid vibe.
Some highlights are as follows:
Hong Kong Baptist University’s Chinese Medicine Exhibition
The origins and classification of Chinese herbal medicines as well as the relationship between Chinese medicines and chemistry were introduced. The exhibition also included a complimentary Chinese herbal tea tasting session.
Robotics Zone
Engineering students from the University of Science and Technology were on hand to explain the robotics exhibits and demonstrate the underlying programming concepts.
Sports x STEM: Reaction Light Game
It was a fun interactive game allowing participants to explore the scientific principles behind reaction time and lighting systems.
