Is there an elite class in each form?

每級有否設精英班？

No. F.1 students are allocated to four classes evenly based on the results of the Pre-S1 attainment test of the Education Bureau to prevent the labeling effect caused by streaming and to enable students to learn from their peers and make progress together. F.1 students have their Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics lessons in groups. With smaller class size, the effectiveness of learning can be enhanced.

不設精英班。依教育局中一入學前學科測驗成績，中一新生平均分配四班，避免標籤精英班、非精英班所致的壞影響，確保學生在同儕中學習，一同進步。中一級中、英、數均設分組授課，藉小班教授，鞏固學習基礎。

How does the school help students adapt to the EMI environment?

校方如何協助同學適應英中學習環境？

We provide a F.1 Bridging Programme for newcomers. Students experience lessons conducted in English and master the required study skills. We devise our own school-based curriculum to guide students to acquire vocabulary items of EMI subjects. Various English activities, such as English musicals, English debate competitions, public speaking workshops, English cooking activities and short film shootings, are held so that students can learn English in a language-rich environment and apply what they have learned. We believe that students can speed up their language acquisition if they work hard inside and outside the classroom and get accustomed to expressing themselves in English by listening more, speaking more, reading more and writing more.

設中一銜接課程，讓同學體驗英語授課，掌握學習技巧。學校自訂校本課程，指導同學如何累積英語授課科目詞彙；舉辦各式英語活動，如英語音樂劇、英語辯論比賽、公開演講工作坊、英語烹飪及專題短片拍攝，營造良好語境，務求讓同學學以致用。本校深信，同學發奮學習，課堂內外善用學校語境，習慣以英語表達，多聽、多說、多讀、多寫，英語運用必能得心應手。

Does the school have homework remedial classes?

學校有沒有功課輔導班？

The school has Chinese, English, and Mathematics homework classes, in which our alumni who are currently university students serve as tutors helping our students consolidate their foundation. The Counselling Section also arranges senior form tutors to help students in need after school. Students can stay at school for self-study. Room 200 is our study corner which serves to create an ideal study atmosphere. There are senior form Study Prefects on duty answering questions raised by junior form students.

本校設中、英、數功課班，由就讀大學校友擔任導師，協助同學鞏固學習基礎；輔導組另為有需要同學，安排學長導師，課後指導；課後同學可在學校自修；二零零室為溫習角，營造良好學習風氣。有高中學術領袖生當值，可解答初中同學功課疑難。

學校課業政策如何？

The general principles are as follows: to urge students to establish good learning routines; to ensure that students can consolidate what they have learned; to assess whether students can master the key learning points of the lessons; to give appropriate feedback which helps students improve. The Academic Affairs Section regularly scrutinises the quality and quantity of assignments, and collects samples of teaching materials.

一般原則如下：督促同學建立良好學習常規；確保同學藉此鞏固所學；評估同學能否掌握課堂重點；適切回饋，指導同學改進。學務組定期檢視課業質量，收集教材樣本。

What is the school’s STEM policy?

學校STEM政策如何？

The learning and teaching of STEM is integrated into the curriculum of related subjects. Themes are set and take the form of project learning in junior forms. Junior students acquire relevant skills and knowledge which cultivate their problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and collaboration and communication skills in Computer Literacy and Digital Graphics so that they can integrate their academic knowledge effectively.

本校STEM教學融入相關學科課程之中；訂立主題，以專題研習形式，貫連初中學習；初中在電腦科、數碼繪圖科教授相關技能及知識，焦點在培養同學解難能力、分析能力及協作溝通能力，融會貫通各種學術知識。

Is Chinese Language taught in Cantonese or Putonghua in junior forms?

初中以廣東話抑或普通話教授中文科？

Chinese Language is taught in Cantonese in junior forms. We provide Putonghua as a subject in our formal curriculum, and develop students’ listening and speaking abilities in Putonghua through extra-curricular activities.

初中以廣東話教授中文科。另設普通話科，並以課外活動培養同學普通話聽說能力。
