Description of Activities:
July 28- August 1
Pajama Party Musical K-6
It's time for bed - time to pick up our toys, take a bath, brush our teeth and put our PJs on to end the day. But wait! What's that noise I hear under my bed? Where's my teddy bear? See how bedtime can really be a blast in this creative and cozy 20-minute musical play. Students will learn and perform a show in a week’s time. They will get to wear their pajamas, bring their stuffed animals, and create a wonderful show for their friends and family to see.At the end of the week, students will get to put on a performance for their friends and family.
Kitty Cat Capers: K-6
This is a fun "musical that showcases the mischievous, zany, and loveable behaviors associated with our endearing feline friends. The pick of the litter cast, including Copy Cat, Alley Cat, Cool Cats, and Cuddly Cats, feeds us a treat of mewsical talent through their wild and wacky kitty capers. Miss Tabitha, a teacher at the "Purrrrfect Paws and Claws Finishing School," sets out to encourage audience members to adopt her playful and scampering students that wiggle their whiskers and shake their tails." At the end of the week, students will get to put on a performance for their friends and family.
August 11-15
Bremen Town Jam K-6
"The story of the Town Musicians of Bremen is one of the finest classic fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm. In their story, according to their masters, a group of outcast animals is past their prime and must leave their current home. They find a new home with each other on their way to Bremen. What's amusing about the original tale is that these four "four musicians'', as the animals consider themselves, never actually make it to Bremen. Instead, after they run the robbers out of the house they stumble upon, they settle down to a nice life sharing the abode with one another. There are many different tellings of this tale including operas, plays and cartoons, but this musical you are pursuing is the only telling in which the characters actually make it to Bremen! When they do they band together with all of the citizens of this fair city and have a jam session unlike any other. After all, why be Bremen town musicians if you never make it to Bremen?" At the end of the week, students will get to put on a performance for their friends and family.
HATS! The Musical! K-6
This fun musical is all about showing off your personality with a hat! It doesn't matter what you wear on your head, but what is in your heart. This clever musical sings about all different types of hats and how it portrays different personalities. It is not about the hat that you wear on your head; it's about how you feel underneath. This rhyming musical includes dancing, singing and acting to teach about what is truly important in life. The hat starts the musical, but quickly makes its way to your heart. Your child should bring a hat to camp. Students will learn and perform a show in a week's time. At the end of the week, students will get to put on a performance for their friends and family.
