Your iPad can be powered on by pressing and holding the power button on the top right of your device. Pressing the same button briefly will put your iPad to sleep and wake it up. To power down your iPad, press and hold the power button, then swipe the screen when prompted.
To open an App, simply tap it. The Home Button allows you to return to the main screen of your iPad. It does NOT close an App, but only takes you out of one to return to your main screen.
When you are finished using an app, quickly double tap your Home Button. You will see a grid view of all open apps. To close them "flick" them up towards the top of the screen. This practice will keep your iPad's memory free and working quickly.
