Academic Course Overview
This is a course in mathematical understanding. We will review, explore, and utilize various topics throughout the course. Emphasis is placed on covering standards in the conceptual, theoretical, and practical uses of math as well as in the Common Core State Standards. Additional instruction is provided about strategies that support student success in students’ development of mathematical knowledge. We will also, at times, discuss the history and development of math as a field of study.
Advisory
The goal of advisory is to:
Develop interpersonal relationships
Engage in community building activities
Provide students with a structure and opportunity to have meaningful discussions about academics, school issues, school experiences and other topics that matter to them
Help build a positive school experience
Provide a space and community for students to connect, be supported, and support one another

Some of my favorite hobbies and interests, other than teaching, are math trivia, puzzles, playing with my dog, acting, and being a stage contact choreographer.
I became a teacher to support others in their journeys toward growing and learning. I teach math in hopes that I can help students find interesting, and unknown ideas to explore beyond algorithms. There's so much to discover within the field and anywhere else. I hope we all find new ways to use logic, reason, and critical thinking to better understand our world.
