EVERYONE must pick 7 credits worth of classes (semester classes = 0.5 and year-long classes = 1.0)! This includes anyone who plans on applying for CAPS, Early College, Lewis and Clark (first year), or the CNA program. If you plan on graduating early, applying for release time, or being a teacher's aide, EVERYONE MUST still request 7 credits worth of classes. If your schedule needs to be adjusted (being accepted into a special program, etc.) your counselor will call you down for an appointment to make the needed changes.
Use your transcript and Graduation Requirements Chart to identify which types of credits you still need to take. When you are making decisions on specific classes, you have several resources:
your teachers and parents
admissions requirements on college websites
your counselors (LHS counselors are not able to accommodate individual appointments but WILL BE AVAILABLE for any of your questions during SOAR Time)
Don't choose courses that require an application or audition. Counselors will make those adjustments after participants have been chosen (ex: STUCO, Lewis and Clark, Chamber Choir, etc.)
Please read the course descriptions carefully - make sure you have taken the prerequisite class
Requirement:
1 credit of Fine Art
1 credit of Practical Art
Other 0.5 credit of Physical Education can be taken any year\
2 years of same World Language recommended - NOT required
Base your elective choices on career interest and college preparation
Every SENIOR will meet individually with their counselor in the spring after the Master Schedule is complete to confirm classes and graduation requirements
When one of your requested classes does not work on your schedule, the counselors will look at your Alternate Requests. It is to your advantage to complete the Alternate Course Request Google Form. This is also where you can indicate you would like a study hall.
