Joe Griebel

Joe Griebel – Widefield High School, class of 2007

Joe attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, and Leadership Studies. He has also earned a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he is the Principal Design Engineer at Mind Rocket, a product design startup company.

# 1 – How did earning the Dollars For Scholars/Fountain Valley Scholars award make you feel knowing that your community believed in you enough to invest in your education?

The Fountain Valley community has shaped who I am as a person. The fact that members of the community care enough to invest in students’ future is just one of the reasons this community sets itself apart.

# 2 – Please provide a statement or quote that you feel represents you and your post high school educational experience

Through a combination of scholarships, grants, and part time employment I was able to obtain a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree without accruing any student loan debt. Not having the financial burden of student loans has been a true blessing in my early career.
