Jaqueline Decker (Hawkins) – Fountain-Fort Carson High School, class of 1998
Jaqueline has attended Colorado State University, University of Phoenix, and Grand Canyon University. She has earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has her MBA in Finance. She currently resides in the Fountain Valley, where she works for a non-profit youth ministry called Young Life, headquartered in Colorado Springs. She has worked there 11 years, first as an accountant and is now the Director of Internal Audit.
# 1 – How did earning the Dollars For Scholars/Fountain Valley Scholars award make you feel knowing that your community believed in you enough to invest in your education?
I am extremely grateful for the Dollars For Scholars/Fountain Valley Scholars program. I appreciated the opportunity to apply for a scholarship that my community offered and valued the scholarship interview process with local leaders. When I reflect back on the number of scholarships I’ve received over the years, this particular award was the most meaningful.

I’m a lifelong learner and I value every opportunity to expand my knowledge through education.
