Cara Jorgensen – Fountain-Fort Carson High School, class of 2008
Cara attended the University of San Diego where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Marketing. She is currently working on earning her MBA from Grand Canyon University. Formerly, she was an Event Planner for Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, where she planned events for amateur athletes in Colorado. She worked on the hosting of the Rocky Mountain State Games and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. She currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona where she is a Marketing Event Planner at Grand Canyon University. She plans events for community college and college students interested in transferring to GCU.
# 1 – How did earning the Dollars For Scholars/Fountain Valley Scholars award make you feel knowing that your community believed in you enough to invest in your education?
I was very encouraged knowing that the community I grew up in and was so proud to be a part of wanted to support me. Being recognized as one of the best of the best in our community filled me with pride and made it feel as though the hard work I put in was worth it!
