# 1 – How did earning the Dollars For Scholars/Fountain Valley Scholars award make you feel knowing that your community believed in you enough to invest in your education?
As a teacher, I believe it is essential for young people to know there are a variety of stakeholders supporting their education. Whether it be their school counselor, their boss, their coach, their volunteer supervisor, or even their preschool teacher, it is important they know adults in their community support their post high-school educational goals. The financial commitment to college can be overwhelming and daunting for young people. By providing financial assistance, we as a community help to motivate and promote career importance. Valuing students’ commitment to post-high school education is essential for the future of the Fountain Valley. I’m proud to have returned to my community to serve the kids and families as a special education teacher and will forever appreciate those who supported my college education.
# 2 – Please provide a statement or quote that you feel represents you and your post high school educational experience
