Sphero

Sphero

Before the Annihilation Wave destroyed the Klyn, it was known as an energy cascade. Pieces of the Klyn have been recreated, but you must get them to their home through a portal. In order to reach the portal, you must navigate through many obstacles.

These images are similar to the layout of the Sphero competition boards. The first two boards are 4' x 8'. The last board is 8' in height and 8' in length.

Board 1

Board 2

Board 3

Each rotation is worth 120 points total. With the Sphero rotation, each board is worth a total of 40 points. On each of the boards, students get points for crossing each barrier marked with a dotted red line. You do not get points twice for crossing the same barrier twice.

On Board 1, students can earn extra points by going through one of the tunnels. Students can ONLY earn the 10 points once for the tunnel. Going through both tunnels will not earn them 20 points. If they jump the ramp, they can get 10 points extra, but will not earn 20 points for jumping both ramps. If they end in the end zone, students can earn an additional 5 points.

On Board 2, if students cross the second barrier by going through the middle of the course, they will earn 10 points instead of 5 points. If they jump the ramp, they can earn an additional 10 points. If they land in the end zone, students can earn an additional 5 points.

On Board 3, if students program a loop to go through the first two barriers, they can earn an additional 10 points. If students go up the ramp, they can earn an additional 5 points. If they stay on the ramp and then exit, they can earn another additional 5 points. Landing in the end zone gives them the last additional 5 points.
