Quiz Information
The quiz on December 11th will cover the following topics:
- modelling equations (p. 36 and 41)
- solving equations by preserving equality (p. 37)
- solving equations with two operations (p. 39)
- identifying coefficients and constants (p. 43)
- adding and cancelling like terms (p. 42)
- dividing by a constant (p. 45)
- word problems (p. 46)
NOTICE
On Monday we will be marking pages 22-40 in our Patterns & Algebra book. Please make sure that booklets are complete, and present on Monday.
If you need help with any pages, anyone is welcome to join Mr. Bennett at lunch for help.
QUIZ NOTICE
As well, next week we will have a quiz. On Wednesday, December 11th we will be quizzed on expressions, equations, and equation solving.
Wednesday, December 4
Today we worked on expressions and equations. We learned about the difference between an expression and an equation, and learned how to identify constant terms and coefficients.
Pages 42-43 are due Thursday, December 5.
NOTICE
Please be aware of the following mix-up. Last week we had a quiz. Unfortunately that day I was sick and had a substitute teacher and accidentally left them the wrong quiz! Please be aware of the following:
- The quiz written last week will not count toward term marks on report cards.
- The quizzes may be used to generate some report card comments.
- We will not do a re-test. The quizzes will not be returned.
I am very sorry for the mix-up. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me.
Wednesday, December 4
Scales assignment (Page 41) is due on Wednesday. We will continue to work on it in class on Tuesday.
