What is Sharpening the Saw?

Sharpening the Saw is about taking care of yourself. The Leader in Me program identifies four areas we need to take care of to Sharpen the Saw.

The Body is the physical aspect of our self. We need to take care of our bodies so that we can stay healthy and have the energy to accomplish the things that are important to us. Some the ways that we take care of the body is exercise, getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and doing things to relax.

The Mind is the mental aspect of our self. Taking care of our mind keeps it active and working well so that we can learn new skills. We can read, further our education, write, and learn new things.

The Heart is the emotional aspect of our self. This is where we take care of ourselves by taking care of the people that are important to us.

The Soul is the spiritual aspect of our self. This is taking care of yourself by doing what allows you to relax, and reflect on what is important to you.
