Wright City High School softball recognized five seniors Tuesday, Oct. 7 during a 5-4 victory over VanFar.
The program honored Torrie Perry, Aariah Robertson, Sadie Sehnert, Hailey Swor and manager Isabela Serrano for their contributions to the team.
Swor spent all four years of high school with the softball program. Her favorite memory with the team came from an annual tournament.
"My favorite memory was probably winning 2/3 of our games at our Centralia tournament last year," said Swor.
She plans to study psychology with a goal of becoming a forensic psychologist.
Sehnert also played all four years for Wright City. She noted improved team chemistry this season.
"Everyone seemed to get along and have a lot more fun than in previous seasons," explained Sehnert.
Her favorite memory came from an overnight trip the team recently took.
"My favorite memory was the overnight trip for the UCM tournament when the bus broke down then got hit the next day by an old lady," Sehnert said.
She plans to pursue a degree in kinesiology or physical education as well as being a coach.
Perry spent all four years with the softball team as well. She also recalled the memorable bus incident on the way to the tournament as her favorite memory.
"My favorite memory has to be when the bus broke down on the way to the UCM tournament," Perry said.
She plans to pursue vocal performance.
Robertson transferred to Wright City as a sophomore and joined the softball program. She said team bonding stood out during her time with the program.
"My favorite memories with this team would probably be all of the overnight trips we have taken and the team bonding events," Robertson said.
She plans to attend community college before transferring to a university to study nursing.
We thank the seniors for all of their dedication to the Wright City Softball program.
