The Wright City FFA chapter last met on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The Wright City FFA Chapter discussed the upcoming National Convention trip in Indianapolis. The chapter will leave on Oct. 29 and return the morning of Oct. 31.
During the two days spent at the convention, the FFA chapter will have the opportunity to meet new people through networking experiences, as well as participate in multiple group bonding activities. The chapter hopes that these activities will strengthen their bond as a whole.
“National convention offers our chapter a great opportunity to connect with other members globally while teaching us leadership skills,” says Danielle Freund, chapter president. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead my chapter through this memorable leadership experience.”
In addition to these events, the chapter has a new advisor, Mallory Greiwe. Greiwe is a Mizzou Graduate, and this is her first year teaching. She is excited for conventions and state events.
“The goals I have for the Wright City FFA Chapter are to increase member participation in all activities and to have at least 1 contest team compete at State Convention,” said Greiwe. “As a first-year teacher, the challenges I anticipate happening are balancing teacher and FFA responsibilities. I plan to overcome them by creating a calendar early on to plan events, contests, and fundraisers. I also need to tell myself it is okay to say "no" to some things.”
With exciting things in the works and much more to come, the Wright City FFA chapter looks forward to the upcoming year.
The next FFA meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
