The Wright City FFA chapter attended the National FFA Convention held Oct. 29–31 in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium. The annual convention brings together thousands of FFA members from across the nation to celebrate agricultural education and develop leadership skills.
Throughout the week, Wright City members participated in events focused on premier leadership, personal growth and career success.
The convention schedule offered a variety of student activities. On Wednesday, Oct. 29, attendees took part in Opening Session 1A, competitive events, delegate meetings, workshops and the expo and shopping mall. Evening activities included award ceremonies, a student showcase, a concert and a rodeo.
On Thursday, Oct. 30, members attended Opening Session 1B followed by the second and third general sessions. Students also participated in National Days of Service, hypnotist shows, workshops and tours.
The final day, Friday, Oct. 31, featured the fourth, fifth and sixth general sessions along with continued service events, ceremonies and the popular rodeo.
“My favorite part of the convention was the rodeo. It was really fun to watch and to take a break and just hang out with my chapter,” senior Kaitlyn Mikus said.
The convention serves as a national platform for developing future leaders in agriculture and provides students with valuable experiences that support their educational and career goals.
