Wright City High School held a bullying awareness assembly on Oct. 7 in association with the Megan Meier Foundation.
Students at Wright City High School gathered in the gymnasium this week for an emotional and eye-opening assembly on bullying awareness, led by Tina Meier, founder of the Megan Meier Foundation. The foundation was created in memory of Tina Meier’s daughter, Megan Meier, who tragically took her life due to cyberbullying.
This heartfelt assembly illuminated the pressing issue of bullying, reminding everyone of how serious the matter can be. The main goal of this foundation is to inform students, educators, and parents about the devastating effects of bullying and how everyone can play their role in coming together to prevent it.
During the presentation, Tina Meier spoke about the emotional toll bullying can take, emphasizing the importance of compassion and courage among young people. The assembly included interactive discussions, personal reflections, and resources for students struggling with bullying or mental health.
Students were encouraged to contact trusted adults or friends if they or someone they know is being targeted. Tina Meier emphasized that bullying prevention requires a community-wide effort.
The assembly concluded with a call to action, urging students to take a stand against bullying. By promoting kindness and understanding, the Megan Meier Foundation hopes to empower young individuals to create a more inclusive and compassionate community. With increased awareness and an engaged student body, there is hope for change.
The foundation’s hard work has helped countless families and schools address bullying and mental health.
