Wright City High School’s chapter of Edrising, also known as Educators Rising, is a small club made up of students focused on immersing themselves in school environments and learning about educational careers. Even though its focus is on education, members don’t have to aspire to be an educator to join the club; it is open to all.
“We are a very small club compared to most of the clubs in Wright City,” said Karson McCory, a member of EdRising.
This year, EdRising hopes to increase its number of members and grow as a club.
“Some goals I have for this year are to grow our program with new members, and fundraising, as well as being as inclusive as possible,” said Delanie Nack, president of Wright City High School’s Edrising Chapter.
Edrising hosted its latest meeting on Oct. 2, where they discussed a few things, such as club t-shirt pricing, upcoming fundraising opportunities, and their anticipated conference next month at Truman.
This conference at Truman is just one of their conferences where they get the opportunity to hear from expert educators in their fields and explore options. Edrising has a number of conferences it attends, as well as participating in competitions on many levels.
“Our competitions are a wide range of making books for pre-k through 4th grade; making books and lesson plans,” said McCory.
EdRising looks forward to the upcoming year.
